My Sister’s Place Presents: The Clothesline Project DC
About the Event
Save the Date. Volunteers Needed!
Join us for The Clothesline Project DC, a free community art experience bringing survivors, allies, and neighbors together during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
On Saturday, October 24th, we invite survivors, allies, and neighbors to Alethia Tanner Park from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm for an afternoon of art, healing, and solidarity. The centerpiece of our event is the Clothesline Project: participants decorate T-shirts with messages of strength and remembrance, which we display on a clothesline throughout the day to create a living tribute to everyone touched by domestic violence.
This is a free, family-friendly event and all are welcome.
What to expect
- Create and display your own Clothesline Project T-shirt
- Face painting and a coloring station for kids
- Outdoor activities
