My Sister's Place, Inc. (MSP) is a community based non-profit organization that provides comprehensive and holistic direct services via intervention, prevention, educational programs and services to battered women and their children. The position of Deputy Program Director reports directly to the Chief Program Officer who in turn reports to the Executive Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise all program supervisor(s) and coordinator(s) directly and other direct service staff, both residential and non-residential;
Monitor the delivery services to clients of MSP, including but not limited to:
Providing support, technical assistance and training of staff;
Assign duties to staff or volunteers for services;
Coordinate and conduct regular staff meetings on program issues;
Conduct yearly evaluations and exit interviews;
Work with the Chief Program Officer to recruit new staff as needed;
Ensure adherence with employee handbook;
Monitor documentation of client and program files;
Participate in program activities and services as necessary;
Observe staff to evaluate performance and ensure work meets established standards;
Assist with the development of new and existing programs in conjunction with agency staff, and the Chief Program Officer;
Oversee the logistics management of the agency's emergency shelter as well as the counseling services provided to crime victims at the Allen Lee Hotel.
Research and analyze community needs as the basis for effectiveness based program planning;
Define scope of new and existing services in conjunction with the Chief Program Officer;
Direct and monitor implementation of program policies and procedures for effective service delivery;
Develop, administer and monitor the implementation of organizational policies and procedures, in conjunction with the Chief Program Officer the Executive Director;
Institute and monitor the implementation of program evaluation agency-wide to measure client progress and program success;
Ensure program compliance with contract standards and licensing requirements including timely compilation and submission of all reports to funders and the analysis of statistical data;
Assist in strategic planning and guide the implementation of operations plans for programs and internal operations;
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships and partnerships with other agencies and organizations in the community;
Prepare, distribute, and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records, and training materials.
Participate in the development of the annual MSP budget and the annual program plan of action, timeline, and responsibility chart;
Assist with the planning and participation of fund-raising and public relations materials;
Represent MSP programs and provide expertise to the community around domestic violence; and perform all other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in social work, psychology, or other human services related degree;
10 (+) years experience in program development, implementation, administration, and evaluation.
Minimum of three years experience leading a program area with demonstrated success as a change agent and the implementer of best practices in mission driven organizations;
Ability to work comfortably as a team player and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment;
Possess a problem-solving approach to staff concerns and challenges;
Demonstrated skills in knowledge transfer;
Strong conflict management and negotiations skills;
Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and engage them in a proactive and positive manner;
Experience working with vendors to improve services and contain costs;
Strong supervisory and budget management skills;
Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal laws;
High energy and a sense of humor;
At least five years experience in supervision, preferably in a non-profit setting;
Experience providing services in residential as well as non-residential settings;
Experience in grant writing and fund-raising.

- Clinical Case Manager -
POSITION DESCRIPTION
My Sister’s Place, Inc. (MSP) is a community based non-profit organization that provides comprehensive and holistic direct services via intervention, prevention, educational programs and services to battered women and their children. The Clinical Case Manager provides intensive case management to clients in MSP residential facilities or to residents in the District of Columbia’s 30-day emergency housing program for victims of crime.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide intensive case management services to women and children affected by domestic violence and other crimes;
Identify strengths and needs of individuals and families as they relate to the overall plan of intervention;
Make appropriate referrals to address social, environmental, medical and emotional problems;
Respond to crisis situations and intervene to resolve immediate problems;
Provide assistance in seeking housing, employment, financial assistance and other needed services;
Maintain up-to-date records for documentation of case activity to include electronic case management data entry;
Maintain statistical data which reflects an account of clients served and the number and types of activities performed in order to provide services;
Prepare a variety of reports, including monthly reports to the Counseling Services Supervisor;
Coordinate workshops on financial intelligence, housing opportunities, and other applicable topics;
Collaborate with area service providers in addressing individual client needs;
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings;
Participate in weekly supervision, staff meetings, and other meetings/committees as assigned;
Assist with training and supervision of volunteers and interns as needed;
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of human behavior.
In-depth understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence.
Clinical licensure required, LICSW preferred.
Two or more years of case management experience.
Two or more years experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Strong organizational abilities;
Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals;
Bilingual English/Spanish is desired.
